What does your Irishness mean to you?
I grew up in a small community where last names merely represented distant origines. Every Saturday night we had a "square dance" which was nothing less than somewhat modified Irish dance, as I later learned.

When we got to Samoa, a true Irishmen, Patrick Dilly, held annual St. Patrick's Day parties, which were fun and greatly successful. When Dilly left, everyone expected us to continue the tradition--and that we have done up to this year, our 39th annual St. Patrick's Day party. It has only been since Samoa that I have started to feel Irish.
